Hey, I’m Jessica, a recipe developer based in Colorado.
I started Alpine Spoon as a personal mission to solve the unique challenges of baking at 8,000 feet here in the Colorado Rockies. The thin, dry air at high elevation can actually dull our sense of taste. This means that sea-level recipes don’t just fall physically flat, they often taste flat, too. These recipes are specifically designed to be both stable and flavorful in high, dry climates. My goal is to take some of the guesswork out of high altitude cooking, helping you find the same joy in it that I do.
Alpine Spoon is my happy place where I share recipes, tips, and my love for baking and cooking. Outside the kitchen, I enjoy birdwatching, taking quiet nature walks, fly fishing, and spending time at home, cozying up by the fire with my cats. I’m grateful you’ve stopped by my corner of the internet!
